Vote For Myah!

Rina Shpiruk is a friend of mine I met when adopting Anna Li. We used the same agency and brought our girls home around the same time.
Rina adopted Myah and I believe she is around 3. Myah has had a rough year! She has had several surgeries and Rina has taken her to doctor's all across the US. She had emergency surgery Sunday to remove a tumor that had wrapped its self around her stomach! You can read more about her here:

Awhile back, Rina sent in a "potty" story to Disney Family. Out of 40,000 people she was one of the finalist. What is so great about this is the winner gets 4 tickets to New York and that is where Myah needs to go to see a specialist. They are not able to afford the trip on their own as they have over $100,000 in medical bills. So... we need people to VOTE for her story!!!
I am not going to lie.. it is a little aggrevating as you do have to create yourself a login... but really its only about 5 minutes and it is a great cause! You can vote everyday for the next 7 days. She is in second place right now but there are 2 or 3 that are neck and neck.

A Season of Change

So today is the day that I share with the rest of the world the changes going on in our family. I know it may be hard for some to understand and not all will agree, but I know in my heart that we are doing what is right no matter how difficult it may be. Anna Li will be leaving our home and joining her new family very soon. It was a very difficult and agonizing decision for us but it was a decision made with Anna Li and not for Anna Li. We love Anna Li with all of our being, and she loves us as well. We have made lots of progress over the past year. It seems as each day goes by we get closer and closer to each other. With that said, there is still a huge emptiness in Anna Li's heart. She misses her country, her culture, the food, and the people. Living in small town America limits the opportunities we can give to Anna Li. Disruption.. never an easy choice

First and foremost, I 100% disagree with what this woman has done. Unfortunately, disruption happens... more than most realize. It is one of the most painful agonizing decisions that any parent could ever have to make. It is not something you go into lightly, but when you enter into that decision, there is a legal way to go about it. Shipping a child back to their country ALONE with a note is cold-hearted and completely unacceptable. I can see where the outrage is coming from! However, I feel that when a person's emotions are high she may tend to say things without completely thinking them through.
