100 Good Wishes!!

here is the finished product!
We gave it to her for her 15th birthday.
The picture doesn't do it justice...
it turned out really nice.

I am super excited about my new project brewing...

I was making

100 Good Wishes Quilt
to auction off 
at the 2012 Born in my Heart Auction
benefiting critically ill children
in China. 

But.....

Now.....

I am making TWO:)

They are going to be just 
GORGEOUS!!!

I can't wait to share the plans with you!!

    Hi, Kristy! I guess great minds think alike. I am with LWB, too. I was thinking about making a 100 good wishes quilt for the 2012 auction, too. I googled LWB and 100 good wishes quilt to see if they have sold for lots of money in the previous auctions when I saw your blog. Then, I realized I know you from medical! LOL! Can I help you somehow with the quilts? I made one for my China daughter and have tons of leftover fabric. I considered just going ahead and making a quilt for the auction as well, but don't you think that might make all the quilts not go for as much money? I can send you my fabrics if you'd like. Either way, I thought it was just too funny that we are thinking the same!

Ella Ruth Gray February 2, 2011 5:37 am On February 2nd, 2011 I went for my 4 month prenatal check-up.  I was looking forward to hearing my child's heartbeat. I was out of the 1st trimester and felt like  I was out of the danger zone... There was no heartbeat.. the sonogram confirmed it.. We had lost our baby a few days shy of 16 weeks. I was admitted to the hospital, labor was induced and I gave birth to my little girl at 5:37am.  She was tiny... only 2 oz and 6 inches long.   Tiny little feet... Tiny little hands... We held her in a little pink blanket  handmade by Threads of Love. Ella Ruth is her name. (Ruth after my grandmother) Only the Lord knows why... why my baby girl had to die. A Season of Change

So today is the day that I share with the rest of the world the changes going on in our family. I know it may be hard for some to understand and not all will agree, but I know in my heart that we are doing what is right no matter how difficult it may be. Anna Li will be leaving our home and joining her new family very soon. It was a very difficult and agonizing decision for us but it was a decision made with Anna Li and not for Anna Li. We love Anna Li with all of our being, and she loves us as well. We have made lots of progress over the past year. It seems as each day goes by we get closer and closer to each other. With that said, there is still a huge emptiness in Anna Li's heart. She misses her country, her culture, the food, and the people. Living in small town America limits the opportunities we can give to Anna Li. Disruption.. never an easy choice

First and foremost, I 100% disagree with what this woman has done. Unfortunately, disruption happens... more than most realize. It is one of the most painful agonizing decisions that any parent could ever have to make. It is not something you go into lightly, but when you enter into that decision, there is a legal way to go about it. Shipping a child back to their country ALONE with a note is cold-hearted and completely unacceptable. I can see where the outrage is coming from! However, I feel that when a person's emotions are high she may tend to say things without completely thinking them through.
